About E&E Science 

E&E Science provides a range of scientific and research services throughout New Zealand.

Our primary aim is to deliver high quality services and project outputs to our clients. We have proven experience in research and consulting in the public and private sectors, an understanding of the role and responsibilities of national, regional, and district authorities, and the challenges our clients face.

Abigail has gained a variety of research and consulting experience in earth science and environmental science, particularly in water resources management. Abigail has a keen desire to connect with industry and stakeholders, and has formed connections with peers in research, government organisations, and consulting throughout New Zealand. Abigail is highly adaptable to the current needs of environmental research, consulting, and regulatory sectors and has a focus to provide cost-effective and efficient solutions to meet client needs. 

Abigail undertook her BSc (Hons) and MSc degrees at the University of Otago, Dunedin. A highlight of her post-graduate studies were the opportunities to be a Field Research Assistant in Antarctica. Abigail contributed to glacial geomorphology research in the Dry Valleys (2009) and following award of the Antarctica New Zealand Post-Graduate Scholarship, on the Southern McMurdo Ice Shelf and Minna Bluff (2010). Abigail subsequently moved to Taupo following appointment as a Groundwater Scientist at GNS Science (2012 - 2018). During this time, Abigail developed and applied a range of technical and research skills and gained invaluable experience. Following a relocation to Canterbury, Abigail explored her work opportunities and established E&E Science in 2018, and currently provides services to clients throughout New Zealand. 

 

Through her diverse roles, Abigail has led, executed, and contributed to an extensive range of research and consultancy projects. Abigail has numerous technical skills and expertise in applied hydrology, hydrogeology, glaciology, and soil science disciplines. In particular, Abigail has applied field experience in monitoring bore installation, aquifer testing, water sampling, installation of recharge monitoring sites, drilling rig supervision, well logging, geophysical methods (GPR), geothermal features monitoring, and investigation into groundwater – surface water interaction . In addition, Abigail has undertaken many desktop studies including water quality state and trends analysis, hydrological assessments, groundwater characterisation, and resource management investigations and reviews. In addition, Abigail has experience in the management and delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary research programmes.

Abigail enjoys working with a range of stakeholders and end-users throughout projects, and regularly works with regional and district councils, iwi/hapū, landowners, and other scientists on research and consultancy projects. Abigail regularly collaborates with end-users throughout research projects and in oral, visual, and written presentation of results. Abigail was elected to served as an executive member of the New Zealand Hydrological Society since (2015 - 2019) and is a current member of the society.
